The Holden/Marolt Mining & Ranching Museum sits at the western entrance to Aspen, Colorado, on 40180 Highway 82 — a site that once served as the Holden Lixiviation Works silver mill and later operated as a working family ranch through much of the twentieth century. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the grounds preserve three distinct eras of Pitkin County history: Victorian-era silver mining, Marolt family ranching, and ongoing interpretive use. The outdoor setting offers a casual, pastoral character with beautiful views toward Red Butte and the surrounding mountains. The venue is available for private events from mid-June through early October, welcoming up to approximately 150 guests on its historic grounds. Tent rental is recommended for summer events given the mountain climate, and a guest shuttle is required as on-site guest and vendor parking is limited. The Aspen Historical Society provides vendor recommendation lists for catering and music, and can arrange barn museum access separately. The Holden/Marolt Museum is operated by the Aspen Historical Society, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of the Roaring Fork Valley.
