Holts Landing State Park

Holts Landing State Park sits along the southern shore of Indian River Bay in Millville, Delaware, encompassing 203 acres of bayshore beach, hardwood forests, grassy fields, and freshwater ponds. Originally the Holt family farm, the land was acquired by Delaware in 1957 and opened to the public in 1965. The Grove is the park's dedicated event space — a natural, open-air setting among mature trees designed for outdoor tented receptions of up to 300 guests. It works equally well for intimate garden ceremonies and large celebrations, with a stone fire pit for bonfires and s'mores, a fishing pier extending into the bay, and sweeping water views that make a particularly memorable backdrop at sunset. The park also offers a reservable pavilion accommodating up to 80 guests, complete with a large grill, for picnics, reunions, and smaller gatherings. Events at The Grove are self-catered and vendor-flexible, allowing planners to bring in outside food, rentals, and décor. Nearby overnight accommodations at the Indian River Marina Cottages and the park's own campground make Holts Landing a practical choice for multi-day wedding weekends.
