Hopson Hospitality occupies the historic Hopson Plantation in Clarksdale, Mississippi, a site with roots going back to 1852. The commissary building at its center, constructed over a century ago to serve the plantation's workers and operations, has been restored and maintained as a gathering and event space that retains the building's historical character — filled with antique items that evoke the agricultural heritage of the Mississippi Delta. The plantation holds a place in agricultural history as the first site in the world to produce a commercial crop of cotton by entirely mechanical methods; International Harvester debuted its first cotton picker here in the fall of 1944, an event that marked a turning point in large-scale farming in the American South. Now operating as Hopson Hospitality, the venue describes itself as "a working gathering place, honoring its history while bringing people together" through food, live music, and the blues traditions that define the Mississippi Delta. The space is available for private events, group meals, and public gatherings — including weddings, rehearsal dinners, reunions, corporate events, and festivals.
