Built in 1876 for the United States Life-Saving Service, the Indian River Life-Saving Station is one of the few life-saving facilities on the Atlantic Coast that still stands in its original location. Restored to its 1905 appearance — complete with Queen Anne-style architecture, decorative brackets, and diamond-shaped trim — the station is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and now operates as a museum within Delaware Seashore State Park, located on Route 1 between Rehoboth and Bethany Beach. The property is available for outdoor tented weddings, receptions, and private events from mid-May through mid-October, with grounds that can accommodate up to 250 guests. The venue's oceanfront setting places guests steps from the Atlantic, with ceremony options on the beach beyond the dunes and reception space in a large tent set directly over the sand. On-site amenities include a museum, gift shop, bridal room, and restrooms, along with an on-site attendant to help coordinate the facility on rehearsal day and throughout the event.
