For more than 40 years, Ipanema was the place to go in Midtown’s Little Brazil. Reborn 10 blocks south of its original location, it’s now in a bright contemporary setting with a new menu that includes longtime classics and exciting new takes on Brazilian and Portuguese cuisine. While Ipanema sells modern interpretations of classic dishes from Portugal and Brazil, the menu combines Portuguese recipes with the zest and vibrancy of Brazilian cuisine rooted in French cooking techniques. Our “cheerful and friendly spot tastes just like Brazil & Portugal” and feels like a home “inside-of-a-restaurant.” With 3 different event spaces to choose from you can find a space that is suitable for any sort of gathering, from small dinner parties to weddings: - The Living Room: Lighting and music are fully customizable and a 120” 4K projector that descends from the ceiling is also available. This room is available for private events up to 24 seated guests or 30 standing. - The Main Dining Room: A soft, neutral color evoked by ropes entwined along the ceiling throughout the space, creating a unique focal point in the dining room. Lighting and music are fully customizable. This room is available for up to 66 seated guests and 90 standing. - Cocktail Lounge: Overlooking 36th street has sexy floor-to-ceiling windows and is available for private reception parties of up to 60 people.
