Set on Greensboro Avenue in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the Jemison-Van de Graaff Mansion is a meticulously restored Italianate mansion constructed between 1859 and 1862 by Senator Robert Jemison Jr. as his family city residence. Originally designed to entertain guests and impress political rivals, the mansion now operates as a historical museum and event venue under the stewardship of the Jemison-Van de Graaff Mansion Foundation, established in 1992. The mansion is available for weddings, parties, meetings, showers, luncheons, dances, and more — with ceremonies held on the spacious lawn and receptions in the formal parlors and sitting rooms. Photo shoots are also accommodated on an hourly basis, with the property offering more than 150 years of history as a backdrop. The venue is managed by Historic Tuscaloosa and reflects the rich history of early Southern life, with special emphasis on the founding family and Tuscaloosa history.
