Kalamazoo Nature Center is a 1,100-acre nonprofit nature preserve and environmental education campus set in the wooded, rolling countryside five miles north of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Founded in 1960 to protect Cooper's Glen — a site of centuries-old cultural significance where Native Americans camped and early settlers built homes — it is one of the earliest nature centers established in the United States, recognized by peers as among the top facilities of its kind nationally. For private events, the center offers a varied collection of indoor and outdoor rental spaces suited to everything from intimate meetings to large celebrations. The timber-framed Barn welcomes up to 150 guests at tables or 200 in rows, while Cooper's Glen Auditorium, the Glen Vista Gallery, and the adjacent Vista Deck — cantilevered into the Beech-Maple forest canopy — together serve gatherings of 80 to 250 guests. Outdoors, the Hummingbird/Butterfly Garden and natural Amphitheater each hold up to 250 guests, and several smaller rooms accommodate meetings, workshops, and private parties.
