Ker Place is a Federal-period Georgian-style mansion in the heart of Onancock, Virginia, built between 1799 and 1803 for merchant farmer John Shepherd Ker and his wife, Agnes Corbin Ker. The Virginia Historic Landmarks Commission has called it the finest and most elaborate Federal mansion on Virginia's Eastern Shore, and the house has been restored to reflect its original 1806 appearance, with period furnishings depicting early 19th-century Eastern Shore plantation life. Today Ker Place serves as headquarters and house museum for the Eastern Shore of Virginia Historical Society, offering a three-floor historic house with gallery space and a Herb & Kitchen Garden established in 2004. The house and grounds are available as a venue for weddings and special events, set in the walkable town of Onancock alongside restaurants, churches, and bed-and-breakfasts. The first floor is ADA accessible, and the property's grounds also display the traditional log canoe Annie C.
