Although the winery was established in 1974, its heritage of agriculture began even earlier with John Deere in 1837. In his hometown of Grand Detour, IL, he developed his famous invention, the steel plow, which revolutionized farming. The Deere name is not only extremely prominent in agriculture, but is also significant to Landmark Vineyards through founder Damaris Deere Ford, who carried the family’s commitment to agriculture through viticulture and winemaking. Landmark Vineyards is a hidden jewel, located in the very heart of the Sonoma Valley, offering breathtaking scenery which is complimented by its handcrafted wines and it's rich heritage which dates back to the John Deere family
