About Lovely Day
Lovely Day is an elegant and industrial large-capacity venue in the Longfellow Neighborhood of Oakland (near MacArthur BART). As a former catering company and restaurant, we have our own expertly-staffed industrial kitchens on site, capable of serving up to 10,000 meals per day at full capacity. We hold an ABC Type 47 liquor license, and are pleased to serve a full bar of cocktails, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic mocktails. Amplified music is allowed late at our venue. — We wanted a place where you could dance with your best friend to that one song from college. A place where you could light sparklers while shooting off confetti cannons. A charming space to spend time with people, have some great food and tasty cocktails. Fancy six course dinners eaten in pajamas are encouraged here, because we know a fine dining experience doesn't have to be snooty or uncomfortable — it just needs to be good. Now that we have built this incredible venue, we hope that it feels as comfortable and welcoming as home — there're just no dishes to do. We can't wait to celebrate with you!

- How much does it cost to rent the venue?
- Half Venue (one room + The Courtyard): Mon/Tues/Weds $1500, Sun/Thurs $2000, Fri/Sat $3500. Full Venue (both rooms + The Courtyard): Mon/Tues/Weds $2500, Sun/Thurs $3500, Fri/Sat $6000.
- What is included in the venue rental cost?
- The venue rental fee includes 2 hours of setup, 4 hours of event run time, and 1 hour of strike. Additional time is charged hourly at a rate of $400/hour. Any desired furniture arrangement from our existing collection comes with your rental. Food, beverage, staff and tax are not included.
- What is the venue refund or cancellation policy?
- Cancellations within one week of the reservation are charged 50% of the goods and services for which you have contracted.
- What is the venue capacity?
- The Car Barn: 80 standing or 100 seated theater or 60 seated dining The Shop: 200 standing or 250 seated theater or 150 seated dining The Courtyard: 200 standing or 250 seated theater or 150 seated dining — Full Venue: 480 standing or 500 seated theater or 360 seated dining
- Does the venue offer on-site catering options?
- As a former catering company and restaurant, we are proud of our expertly staffed industrial kitchens, which can serve up to 10,000 meals per day at full capacity. You are also welcome to bring your own food, hire a food truck, forego food entirely for your event, or rent our kitchens for yourself.
