Mackay Bar Ranch

Mackay Bar Outfitters & Guest Ranch sits on the shores of the Main Salmon River inside Idaho's Frank Church "River of No Return" Wilderness — one of the most remote event settings in the lower 48 states. The ranch is accessible only by jet boat, small aircraft, raft, or seasonal ATV, making every gathering here a true wilderness destination. Owned and operated by Buck and Joni Dewey since 2012, the property draws on Buck's lifelong guiding experience on the Salmon River and Joni's deep commitment to hospitality. The ranch accommodates 23 to 34 overnight guests across three private cabins, private rooms in the main lodge, a deluxe wall tent, and tent camping sites for larger groups. All-inclusive packages cover lodging, home-cooked meals with customizable menus, and access to jet boat tours with Coast Guard-certified captains. The riverside grounds, sandy beach, and lodge with fireplace provide the backdrop for destination weddings, family reunions, and corporate retreats. Beyond the event itself, guests have access to horseback riding, fishing, hiking, swimming, and visits to historical landmarks throughout the backcountry — making Mackay Bar as much an adventure as a venue.
