Marble Springs State Historic Site preserves the final home and farm of John Sevier, Tennessee's first governor, across more than 30 wooded acres in Knoxville. The property takes its name from the picturesque springs on the grounds and the Tennessee "pink marble" once quarried nearby, and it includes a collection of period structures — a tavern, kitchen, cabin, loom house, and spring house — alongside nature trails and picnic areas that give the site an authentic 18th-century backdrop for gatherings. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and recognized with an Award of Excellence and Commendation from the Tennessee Association of Museums, the site pairs that historic setting with genuine flexibility for private events. Its rural woodlands, meadows, and streams have hosted weddings and ceremonies, receptions, family picnics, company events, and birthday parties, offering hosts a natural, historically rich setting rather than a conventional event hall. The Governor John Sevier Memorial Association maintains the property, which has also served as an educational resource for area school children for more than 50 years and is a certified wildlife habitat.
