The Meux Home Museum is a beautifully preserved 1888 Victorian-era residence in the heart of downtown Fresno, California, situated at the corner of Tulare and R Streets. Built for Dr. Thomas Richard Meux and his family, the home stands as an enduring symbol of Fresno's Gilded Age, reflecting the architectural elegance and societal character of the late 19th century. Restored and opened as a museum in 1973, it features original period furnishings, intricate woodwork, and curated exhibits that bring local history to life. The museum offers two event spaces for private rentals: the Carriage House and Garden Venue, which accommodates up to 100 guests for weddings, celebrations, and tea parties, and a Conference and Meeting Space in the Carriage House Annex suited for workshops, presentations, and small gatherings. Both spaces include access to Victorian gardens and up to 12 hours of venue time, with flexible seating configurations available. Beyond its rental offerings, the Meux Home Museum hosts a rotating calendar of community events — from seasonal markets and garden teas to candlelit evening gatherings — drawing on its historic architecture and gardens to create distinctive experiences in the Central Valley.
