The name "Mundano" comes from the Spanish word "worldly," which Chef Ross Henke considered when creating the cuisine. Henke plans to rely on his recognized experience with Latin American cuisine, but he'll focus on the New American style, merging a range of inspirations and culinary techniques to create flavors that are both stunning and memorable. Mundano is a true neighborhood restaurant, located on a quiet street in Chicago's gorgeous Lincoln Park—though we feel neighborhood refers to sentiment more than a physical location. We believe that value is created via the experience, which is derived not just from our upgraded food and beverage program, but also from our staff and the positive, forward-thinking culture we are cultivating together.
