The North Carolina Botanical Garden, a public garden affiliated with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, offers a distinctive natural setting for private events in Chapel Hill. The James & Delight Allen Education Center — a LEED Platinum-certified building — anchors the indoor event program, featuring flexible spaces for conferences, workshops, luncheons, and receptions alongside covered porches overlooking the Courtyard Gardens. Outdoor options include the Perennial Circle, a round lawn ringed by native wildflowers suited for intimate ceremonies; the covered Sara Waitt Breezeway connecting the Education Center buildings; and the historic Koch Memorial Forest Theatre and Coker Arboretum near downtown Chapel Hill, both offering green-canopied settings for ceremonies and outdoor gatherings. The Garden accommodates weddings, corporate meetings, team workshops, and milestone celebrations, and holds recognition as an LGBTQ+ friendly wedding venue.
