Old Wilson Schoolhouse Community Center

Built in 1930, the Old Wilson Schoolhouse Community Center occupies a historic red log building at 5655 Main Street in Wilson, Wyoming, five miles west of Jackson at the base of Teton Pass. Originally a two-room schoolhouse that served the Wilson community for nearly seven decades, the building was restored through a $600,000 Wyoming Business Council grant after local residents organized to preserve it from demolition. Since 2003, Teton County has leased the property to the nonprofit that operates it today. The schoolhouse is recognized as a prominent historic structure by the Teton County Historic Preservation Board. The facility offers over 1,800 square feet of event and meeting space, featuring original hardwood floors, natural lighting, and a commercial kitchen equipped for outside catering. Rentals include 100 chairs and an assortment of tables, along with a projector, screen, and Bluetooth speakers in the main meeting room. A large front lawn with flower beds extends the gathering space outdoors for events of all kinds. The venue accommodates up to 120 guests and is situated adjacent to Owen Bircher Park. Private events, community gatherings, weddings, and nonprofit meetings are among the occasions the schoolhouse regularly hosts. In 2025, the center hosted 786 events, with 93 percent offered at subsidized rates for nonprofits and educational organizations.
