Omaha Playhouse

Omaha Community Playhouse has served the Omaha community since 1924, operating as one of the largest non-profit community theatres in the nation. Founded as part of the American Little Theatre movement, the organization produces live theatre year-round with a production season running August through June. The playhouse offers two performance spaces for productions and private events: the Howard and Rhonda Hawks Mainstage Theatre, which seats 558 guests, and the Howard Drew Theatre, a flexible black box space accommodating 200 to 230 guests. Additional spaces — including the Owen and Scott Lobbies, a board room, a dance studio, a rehearsal hall, and the Drew Foundation Plaza — are available for meetings, receptions, and special gatherings. Both theatres are wheelchair accessible, with a complimentary infrared sound system for guests who are hard of hearing and sensory kits and a quiet zone available at no charge. Complimentary parking is available in the Storz Parking Plaza adjacent to the building.
