Pharsalia Events

Pharsalia is an 1814 estate built by Major Thomas Massie as a wedding gift for his son William, set in Virginia's Tye River Valley on the shoulder of dePriest Mountain in Nelson County. Once a working agricultural operation spanning more than 10,000 acres, the property retains several original structures, including its historic smokehouse and additional outbuildings, and continues today as a working flower farm under owners Foxie and Richard Morgan. The estate's grounds include lawns, shaded porches, gardens, orchards, vineyards, and mountain and orchard views, and host weddings, private events, and workshops for up to 240 guests. Indoors, the Formal Dining Room offers space for smaller catered luncheons and dinners, while a covered atrium tent with clear sidewalls provides weather-protected space from April through October. Custom floral design using farm-grown blooms is available for weddings, drawing on Pharsalia's history as a flower farm.
