Plaza Nacional at La Villita

Plaza Nacional is one of six outdoor event venues within La Villita, San Antonio's historic arts village on the south bank of the San Antonio River in downtown San Antonio. The plaza sits at the corner of E. Nueva and S. Presa streets, directly across from St. John's Lutheran Church, and is surrounded by flowering plant beds and large shade trees. La Villita traces its roots to eighteenth-century settlement along the river near Mission San Antonio de Valero (the Alamo) and was restored beginning in 1939 under Mayor Maury Maverick as a tribute to the city's early residents. Today the historic square-block district is home to more than 25 shops and galleries and hosts more than 200 events each year. Plaza Nacional's outdoor setting accommodates up to 200 guests for a reception or 100 for a seated dinner, suiting it to wedding ceremonies, receptions, birthday parties, and corporate events. The plaza includes a fountain extension and is reserved through La Villita's event reservations team with a minimum 60-day lead time.
