Powderhorn Mountain Resort

Powderhorn Mountain Resort sits on the northern edge of Grand Mesa in Western Colorado, approximately 45 minutes east of Grand Junction. Set at a base elevation of 8,200 feet and rising to 9,850 feet, the resort encompasses 1,600 acres of mountain terrain — including aspen groves, ski runs, and sweeping valley views — making it a distinctive backdrop for weddings and private celebrations. The resort hosts intimate weddings for up to 225 guests, with an on-site wedding coordinator who assists couples through ceremony planning, catering, reception logistics, lodging, and rehearsal coordination. Ceremonies typically take place on the large back deck overlooking the mountain and aspen trees, where an aspen log arbor anchors the setup. Receptions move indoors to the main banquet hall, which features tall windows, chandeliers, a built-in bar, and a dance floor. On-site lodging — including tiny homes, condos, townhomes, and motel-style rooms — allows guests to stay on the mountain before and after the event. Powderhorn operates year-round, with summer weddings running late June through August and fall celebrations drawing couples to the resort's peak foliage season in late September and early October.
