Rappahannock Cellars

Rappahannock Cellars is a family-owned winery set on Glenway Farm, a 100-acre historic property in Rappahannock County in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. The Delmare family established the winery nearly 40 years ago, drawing on Marialisa Delmare's family farming history that traces back to 1571. After beginning among 90-year-old vines in California's Santa Cruz Mountains, the family relocated to Virginia in 1998 in search of a family-friendly environment for their twelve children, several of whom helped plant the original vineyards. Now celebrating 25 years of production, the winery is led by two of the Delmare children, Kelly and Teresa, continuing the multi-generational operation. The estate emphasizes sustainable, old-world-style winemaking suited to Virginia's terroir, with grounds that include patios, decks, lawns, a vineyard pavilion, and a rooftop patio. The tasting room welcomes visitors daily for wine flights alongside a light fare menu of cheeses and sandwiches, and the property also hosts small private events, such as bridal showers, engagement parties, and birthday celebrations, in its club rooms overlooking the vineyard.
