Riverside Park

Riverside Park is a 46-acre city park in Brownwood, Texas, set along the Pecan Bayou near the entrance to the United Grocery Store on East Commerce Street. The park includes a large covered pavilion that seats up to 240 guests, along with a nature trail, a one-mile walking trail, a boat ramp, a sand volleyball court, and an 18-hole disc golf course. The park underwent a $3.1 million renovation completed in May 2025, funded through the American Rescue Plan. The project rebuilt the park's roadways, added more than 180 parking spaces, and introduced a modern pavilion with an expanded patio, string lighting, and food truck hookups, along with new entrance signage and sidewalk improvements. A second phase, funded by a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department grant, is planned to add an inclusive playground, a longer walking loop, an overlook pavilion with a water feature, and additional accessibility improvements. Riverside Park is managed by the City of Brownwood's Parks and Recreation Department, which handles reservations for the park's pavilion alongside the city's other event facilities.
