San Luis Obispo Museum of Art

The San Luis Obispo Museum of Art (SLOMA) is a nonprofit art museum located at the west end of Mission Plaza in the heart of downtown San Luis Obispo, California. Originally founded in the 1950s as the San Luis Obispo Art Association, SLOMA became an official museum in 2011 and has since grown into a cornerstone of the Central Coast arts community. The museum offers free admission and presents rotating exhibitions alongside a permanent collection, with a commitment to bringing people together through art. For private events, SLOMA opens its 2,375-square-foot Museum Main Level — comprising the Gray Gallery, McMeen Gallery, and Nybak Gallery — to gatherings of all kinds. The interconnected galleries accommodate up to 130 guests seated or 200 standing, making the space well suited for wedding receptions, corporate celebrations, fundraisers, and milestone events. Event guests enter through the museum's signature Mission Plaza double doors, with the museum's colorful exterior murals and downtown San Luis Obispo setting providing a distinctive backdrop.
