Schedel Arboretum & Gardens

Schedel Arboretum and Gardens is a 17-acre garden estate on the banks of the Portage River in Elmore, Ohio. Developed over five decades by Joe and Marie Schedel — who traveled to more than 120 countries gathering art, antiques, jade carvings, and bronze pieces — the estate was opened to the public in 1991 by the Schedel Foundation and today serves as a nature sanctuary, cultural center, and private event destination. Four distinct spaces accommodate ceremonies and receptions across the grounds. The Traditional Garden Area and Japanese Garden each host outdoor ceremonies for up to 300 guests, with mature plantings, water features, and statuary providing the backdrop. The covered Marilyn Bandfield Pavilion offers an elegant outdoor reception setting for up to 300 guests. For smaller gatherings, the Veh Conference Center accommodates up to 90 guests indoors and features A/V equipment, a full liquor license, and professional bartenders, with year-round availability and sky views over the gardens.
