Schmid Ranch

Schmid Family Ranch is a centennial working ranch on Wilson Mesa, approximately ten miles west of Telluride, Colorado. Homesteaded in 1882, the nearly 900-acre property sits at 9,684 feet elevation with 360-degree views of the San Juan Mountains, including the 14,000-foot Wilson Peak. A conservation easement held by the San Miguel Conservation Foundation ensures the land remains undeveloped, giving events here an irreplaceable sense of open space and mountain solitude. The ranch hosts weddings, corporate retreats, group gatherings, and film productions. Celebrations can range from formal sit-down catered dinners to casual barbecues, supported by local catering and service providers. Wedding packages include use of two distinct ceremony sites — one set among aspen groves, the other on a ridgeline overlooking the mountains — as well as a fire pit reception area and on-site cabin accommodations for up to 12 guests.
