Sewickley Heights Golf Club was founded in 1961 by five passionate golfers, including Harton "Bud" Semple and William George and the Oliver brothers, on land that had once been slated for airport development. Architect Jim Harrison transformed the site into a championship-caliber course, and the club went on to make its mark in competitive golf, hosting the U.S. Women's Amateur in 1966 and the Champion's Tour Pittsburgh Senior Classic in 1998, with past visitors including Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Hale Irwin, Raymond Floyd, and Lee Trevino. Beyond the course, the clubhouse offers a range of settings for private events, from the formal Dining Room and relaxed Lounge to the scenic Patio, the Ballroom, and the Men's Grill. The club hosts family parties, business functions, banquets, receptions, showers, and corporate and non-profit golf outings, with a team that works with hosts on menu planning, room layouts, entertainment, and event-day coordination.
