Founded in 1991 by Dean and Davis Factor, great grandsons of acclaimed Hollywood makeup artist Max Factor, Smashbox is known throughout the industry as a hub for world-class photographers and directors to shoot important content for major magazines, ad campaigns, music & entertainment projects and brand visuals. In 1996 Dean and Davis launched Smashbox Cosmetics that has become the leading trend-setting global brand. Smashbox Studios reopened in 2015 following an exciting new partnership with Industrial Color Brands that includes a total facility renovation. This partnership that created Smashbox Studios combines 25 years of experience in pioneering photo, video and studio technology that brings next-level service to the iconic space. Major upgrades to Smashbox Studios include 9,000 amps of 3-phase power, full seismic upgrades, updated STC rated sound stages, Gb internet and Gb wireless networks throughout, custom designed makeup tables, modern AV systems and beautiful interior and exteriors designed by leading architecture design firm, Gensler. The 25,000 square foot facility that houses Smashbox Studios returns as the premier creative destination and event location in LA.
