Snow Farm Vineyard

Snow Farm Vineyard & Winery sits on an island in Lake Champlain in South Hero, Vermont, where the lake's micro-climate mirrors growing conditions found in Burgundy, France. Founded by the Lane family in the mid-1990s to keep their retired dairy farm in agricultural use, it became Vermont's first commercial vineyard, with plantings established in 1997. The estate now spans more than 100 preserved acres and includes a tasting room, a distillery producing gin, grappa, and fruit liqueurs, and a small-batch winery known for cool-climate wines like Seyval Blanc, Riesling, and its signature Vidal Blanc Ice Wine. For weddings, bridal showers, and rehearsal dinners, couples can choose a ceremony atop Fox Hill among the grapevines or along the shores of Lake Champlain, with the surrounding farmland and lake views as a backdrop. Snow Farm provides a tent for receptions of up to 200 guests, along with tables, chairs, and bar service, and offers on-site bed and breakfast lodging for guests staying the weekend. As a small, family-run operation, the team works closely with each couple to plan the day personally rather than following a set formula. Beyond weddings, Snow Farm hosts a Summer Concert Series, the Music in the Vineyard series, and seasonal gatherings like its Spirit Festival and Harvest Festival, drawing visitors to the vineyard throughout the year.
