South Union Shaker Tavern

South Union Shaker Village, located in Auburn, Kentucky, offers two distinct event settings on its historic 18-acre grounds: the 1869 South Union Hotel and the surrounding Meadows. The Hotel — one of the last surviving 19th-century railroad hotels in the region — was built by the South Union Shakers to serve Victorian-era rail travelers and today accommodates up to 60 seated guests across three dining rooms and an enclosed sun porch, alongside a catering kitchen for licensed caterers. Outdoors, three meadow areas spread across the grounds provide flexible ceremony and reception space for gatherings of up to 120 guests, with access to restrooms, a kitchen, changing rooms, and electrical service in the Visitor Center. The combination of a well-preserved historic interior and open Kentucky landscape makes South Union an adaptable choice for weddings, corporate functions, and private gatherings.
