St. Barnabas on the Desert

Saint Barnabas on the Desert is an Episcopal church and event venue situated on a landscaped campus at 6715 North Mockingbird Lane in Paradise Valley, Arizona. Founded in 1953, the parish's Mediterranean contemporary complex — designed by architect T.S. Montgomery and completed in 1961 — offers a setting of graceful arches, high ceilings, and desert-country grounds for weddings, concerts, and private gatherings. Two ceremony spaces anchor the campus. The main Sanctuary seats 460 guests beneath rhythmic columns and arches, with a raised circular altar and a focal mosaic titled "Wondrous Love" by artist Sarah Hall. The intimate Jim Clark Contemplative Chapel, appointed with Renaissance art and contemporary Mediterranean furnishings, accommodates smaller ceremonies and private services of up to 60 guests. Wedding packages at Saint Barnabas include ceremony and rehearsal access, a dedicated wedding coordinator, bridal preparation rooms, altar flowers, and technical support. The campus is fully wheelchair accessible and equipped with hearing assistance devices in the Sanctuary and Hutton Hall.
