The Historic Stone House Restaurant and Country Inn sits along U.S. Route 40 — the old National Road — in Pennsylvania's Laurel Mountains, where it first opened its doors in 1822 as the Fayette Springs Hotel. Built by Congressman Andrew Stewart as a resort near the mineral waters of Fayette Springs, the two-story stone building has served travelers and locals for two centuries with fine dining, music, and lodging. Today the Stone House pairs its restaurant with a handful of individually named guest rooms, including the Victorian and Zeigler rooms and the Marshall/Jackson and Stewart suites, available for overnight stays paired with a three-course dinner. Its catering team, led by Christine Schaney, extends beyond the inn itself, handling weddings and private events at venues across southwestern Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia, and western Maryland with custom menus built around each client's budget and guest count.
