Swann Lake Stables

Swann Lake Stables is a barn and outdoor event venue nestled in Cahaba Heights, a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama, along the banks of the Little Cahaba River. Built in 2004 by owners Alex and Marjorie Jones on a property with historical ties to Theodore Swann — a prominent Birmingham businessman of the 1920s — the stables transitioned from horse boarding to an exclusive events destination serving weddings, rehearsal dinners, showers, and corporate gatherings. The venue's Upper Barn features exposed timber beams, a grand stone fireplace, a built-in bar with an iron chandelier, an indoor balcony, and a stone patio that wraps around one side of the building. Manicured lawns and riding arena grounds extend the usable event space outdoors, with the river setting providing a scenic backdrop for ceremony photos. Combined, the property accommodates up to 250 guests for ceremonies and up to 300 guests for receptions. Rental includes tables and chairs for up to 250 guests, four hours of traffic security, and a three-day access window spanning setup, event day, and breakdown. Clients may choose their own photographer, florist, caterer, band, or DJ, with alcohol service through the venue's designated bartending partner.
