Terrapin Hill Farm

Terrapin Hill Farm is a private, working farm and event venue set along the Chaplin River in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, in the heart of the Bluegrass region. The property spans river-bottom fields, rolling pastures, hardwood and cedar woods, streams, a mile of riverfront, and a one-acre pond — giving it a secluded, natural character that sets it apart from conventional event halls. Co-owners Brenda and Pete Cashel have operated the farm since 1985 and remain hands-on for every event. Pete designed and built the venue's structures by hand — including the main pavilion, chapel stage, general store, arches, and roundhouse. Brenda provides day-of coordination, handling planning, vendor communication, and timeline management. Pete, an ordained minister, is also available to officiate ceremonies. The main pavilion seats approximately 175 guests and can be supplemented with an on-site tent for additional guests. The farm's open vendor policy allows couples and event planners to bring any caterer or bartender they choose. An extensive inventory of furniture, tableware, linens, and décor is available on-site. Overnight accommodations include five cottages and ten RV hookups, making Terrapin Hill Farm well-suited for multi-day events, festivals, and destination celebrations.
