The Anchorage

The Anchorage is a historic estate and event venue set on three acres of manicured grounds along Maryland's Eastern Shore. The original structure dates to 1710, with the main Georgian manor house — featuring wide plank floors, elaborate wood moldings, and a paneled fanlight doorway — added in 1835 by Commodore Jacob Jones. The property has since been updated to welcome weddings, social celebrations, corporate retreats, and multi-day group gatherings. The venue accommodates a range of event formats. The Chesapeake Bay Room, an enclosed porch, handles indoor gatherings of up to 40 guests. The grounds support outdoor ceremonies and receptions of varying sizes, with a pool area suited to cocktail hours. With 11 individually appointed guest rooms on-site — including several with jetted tubs and private balconies — The Anchorage enables full-weekend event packages that include the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, and post-event brunch, all on one property.
