The Armstrong Hotel

The Armstrong Hotel is Fort Collins' only independent hotel, operating from its original 1923 building in the heart of Old Town at 259 S. College Ave. Over the decades the property has served as a community hotel, the first Colorado chapter headquarters of the American Automobile Association, and military barracks — earning its place in local history before returning to hospitality with a modern rustic aesthetic that pairs vintage character with contemporary comfort. For private events, the hotel offers distinct spaces ranging from intimate dinners to wedding receptions of up to 50 guests, supported by a dedicated meeting and event planner. The underground Ace Gillett's Lounge brings live music and handcrafted cocktails to the event experience, while The Library — with its custom bookshelves and eclectic design — provides a stylized backdrop for receptions and social gatherings. The two spaces connect, allowing groups to expand across both for larger occasions.
