The Austin Club

Housed in the 1878 Millett Opera House in downtown Austin, The Austin Club occupies a building once second in size and grandeur only to Galveston's opera house, with 24-inch limestone walls, a hand-painted ceiling, and a balcony original to its performance-hall days. Notable figures from John Philip Sousa to William Jennings Bryan once appeared on its stage before the building later served as a skating rink, a Knights of Columbus hall, and a public school property. The Austin Club, founded in 1949, has leased and restored the building since 1979. Today the club hosts weddings, galas, corporate events, and private dinners across seven indoor and outdoor rental spaces, including the Medallion Ballroom, which accommodates up to 250 seated or 300 standing guests. Room rentals include an on-site event manager, tables, house linens, wait staff, bartending, Wi-Fi, and a dance floor, with an in-house culinary team handling catering for every event.
