The Baxter

The Baxter is a historic landmark in the heart of Downtown Bozeman, Montana, built in 1929 by nearly 250 local community members — business owners, ranchers, and professionals who pooled their resources to create a gathering place for their city. After nearly a century, the building continues to serve as one of Bozeman's most recognizable cultural anchors on Main Street. Renovated to preserve its original craftsmanship, The Baxter's grand lobby features marble floors, vaulted ceilings, and warm lighting. Five rental spaces — including a ballroom with nearly 3,000 square feet of event floor — accommodate weddings, conferences, fundraisers, holiday parties, seminars, luncheons, cocktail parties, and ceremonies of all kinds. An experienced event coordinator works with planners from first inquiry through event day, assisting with floor layout, vendor recommendations, catering, and bar service. In-house catering and licensed bar operations are available on-site, making The Baxter a self-contained option for events in a genuinely storied Montana setting.
