The Berry Hill Resort

Berry Hill Resort is a National Historic Landmark set on 703 acres of tree-lined forest along the Dan River outside South Boston, Virginia, with a mansion recognized as one of the finest examples of Greek Revival architecture in the United States. The resort has welcomed guests since 1728, and its grand portico and Doric pavilions give the estate what has been described as an almost theatrical air of romanticism within a remote, wooded setting. Weddings and events take place across several distinct spaces on the grounds, from the Front Circle's lawn in front of the mansion to the cedar-lined Jefferson Grove and the East Lawn, once the gardens of the Bruce family. Indoors, the Grand Ballroom serves as the resort's largest and most versatile space for ceremonies and dinner dances, opening onto an all-weather terrace, while the Library Bar's adjoining rooms of period antiques suit cocktail receptions and smaller gatherings. Beyond its event spaces, the resort offers 92 guest rooms and four historic suites, on-site catering, a European spa, an indoor pool, tennis courts, and hiking and biking trails, along with three dining venues including Darby's Tavern and The Mansion Restaurant.
