The Caldwell House

The Caldwell House is a 100-year-old mansion in the heart of downtown Abbeville, Louisiana, set within lush tropical gardens and a New Orleans-style courtyard pavilion. The property has hosted everything from intimate ceremonies to lavish receptions for up to 200 guests, offering a distinctive mix of historic architecture and lush outdoor settings in Louisiana's Cajun Country. Couples can exchange vows in the tropical garden along the winding brick pathway, celebrate under the courtyard canopy, and dine inside the classic mansion — all on the same property. The house itself features a sunlit parlor, formal dining room, deep shaded porches, and five guest rooms for the wedding party or out-of-town guests to stay on site. Florals, plates, flatware, and glassware are included with the venue, and the team handles rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, and brunches in addition to full weddings. The downtown location puts guests within walking distance of Magdalen Square festivals, Cajun restaurants, and the Vermilion River.
