The Claridge Hotel is a historic Atlantic City landmark that opened in 1930, rising 24 stories above the boardwalk and earning the nickname "The Skyscraper by the Sea." Designed in the Manhattan style by Philadelphia contractor John McShain, the hotel served as a diplomatic hub during World War II — hosting the 1943 United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration conference attended by delegates from 44 nations — and has welcomed renowned guests including Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Today, The Claridge offers multiple event spaces backed by in-house catering and professional on-site event coordination. The Grand Ballroom shines with antique crystal chandeliers and ornate moldings overlooking Brighton Park and the ocean; the Ocean View banquet room accommodates up to 250 guests with panoramic Atlantic Ocean and boardwalk vistas; and the Celebrity Theatre seats up to 350 for ceremonies, performances, and corporate sessions. The art deco-appointed Southampton provides an intimate alternative for smaller gatherings. Standard audio-visual equipment, tables and chairs, and a dedicated event coordinator are included across wedding and event packages.
