Set within Natural Tunnel State Park in Duffield, Virginia, The Cove Ridge Center overlooks Stock Creek Gorge near the northern portal of the Natural Tunnel, an 850-foot limestone passage that William Jennings Bryan once called the "Eighth Wonder of the World." The climate-controlled center houses a great room with a stone fireplace, an auditorium accommodating up to 100 guests, a classroom, and a resource library, along with a catering kitchen and a 3,500-square-foot deck suited to outdoor dining and gatherings. High-speed internet and audiovisual equipment are included with rental, making the auditorium and library well suited to retreats and workshops as well as receptions. Beyond the main center, the 909-acre park offers additional settings for ceremonies and receptions, including an outdoor amphitheater seating up to 200 guests, a lawn and gazebo at Fincastle Fields, and a deck at the mouth of the Natural Tunnel reached by chairlift. Two adjoining six-bedroom dormitories can house up to 48 overnight guests, and the park also offers cabins, yurts, and a lodge nearby. Outside caterers are welcome with the proper permits, and alcohol is permitted with a banquet license.
