The Cuban Club

The Cuban Club is a historic four-story landmark in Ybor City, Tampa, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally built in 1917 — replacing a wooden structure lost to fire the year before — the Neoclassical yellow brick building was founded in 1902 as El Circulo Cubano, a mutual aid society for Cuban immigrants. Today it operates as a multi-purpose event rental facility, hosting weddings, galas, corporate functions, concerts, and cultural events across its distinct spaces. The venue encompasses five event areas ranging from intimate gatherings to large-scale productions: the Grand Ballroom on the fourth floor seats up to 480 guests; the historic Theater holds 475 in terraced seating across two levels; The Cantina accommodates 275 seated or 780 standing with a permanent stage and full-service bar; and the expansive outdoor Courtyard spans over 35,000 square feet with capacity for up to 4,500 guests. The building's original details — imported tile, stained glass windows, and elaborately muraled ceilings — give each space a character that newer venues rarely match.
