The Eden

Santa Monica's Timeless Escape, Rooted in Beauty Nestled along the shimmering shores of Santa Monica, The Eden is where history, nature, and modern coastal design come together. Set just steps from the Pacific, this intimate 70-room boutique hotel offers a setting that feels removed from the everyday while remaining in the heart of Santa Monica. Originally built in 1939 and inspired by the Streamline Moderne movement, The Eden carries the romance of another era into the present. Graceful curves and timeless architectural details meet lush garden courtyards, natural light, and sweeping ocean views, creating an atmosphere that feels calm, considered, and distinctly coastal. For celebrations, The Eden offers a collection of indoor and outdoor spaces designed to create experiences that flow effortlessly. Velvet Rose, our open-air rooftop lounge, overlooks the Pacific, Santa Monica Pier, and Malibu coastline—an unforgettable backdrop for sunset cocktails, welcome receptions, holiday parties, and intimate celebrations. Belvedere offers a private, light-filled setting with expansive windows, ideal for intimate gatherings, wedding preparations, private meals, and meetings. At the heart of the property, our Pool Courtyard is framed by lush greenery, cabanas, warm wood decking, and our saltwater pool, creating a beautiful open-air setting for ceremonies, cocktail hours, dinners, milestone celebrations, and receptions. From hors d'oeuvres and hosted cocktails to private dinners and celebratory toasts, our Events Team works closely with each host to thoughtfully tailor the experience. At The Eden, it's about the moments: morning light over the Pacific, garden air, cocktails at golden hour, and celebrations surrounded by the people who matter most. A place to gather. A place to celebrate. A place to stay awhile.
