The Guru

The Guru is a distinctive event venue and community space housed in a restored 1920s mechanics garage within the Circa 1857 complex on Government Street in Baton Rouge. Described as a fusion of funky and serene, the space combines warehouse-style aesthetics — 15-foot ceilings, original garage doors — with an atmosphere shaped by sacred sculptures, consignment art, and seating with cushions and pillows. A covered outdoor patio extends the space for more relaxed gatherings. The venue accommodates a wide range of occasions, from intimate weddings, receptions, and catered dinners to corporate retreats, workshops, fundraisers, and art shows. Acoustic performances, photo shoots, and celebrations of life are regularly hosted here as well. All events include an onsite manager, and the venue offers custom room setups along with optional catering coordination, party planning, décor, and bartending services.
