The High Line

From sweeping views of the Hudson River, to the raw, structural elements from the elevated railway’s industrial past, the High Line provides a oneof-a-kind experience in an unrivaled New York City setting. The High Line is an elevated freight rail line turned hybrid public space on Manhattan’s West Side. Founded in 1999 by two community residents, Friends of the High Line fought for the High Line’s preservation and transformation at a time when the historic structure was under threat of demolition. In 2009, the High Line was revived as the innovative park you see today. Friends of the High Line is now the nonprofit conservancy that maintains, operates, and programs the High Line in partnership with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation. The Spur and Coach Passage, the newest sections of the park, are available as the largest venue combination on the High Line
