The Jewel Box

The Jewel Box is a 1936 Art Deco display greenhouse in Forest Park, St. Louis, widely recognized as one of the park's most distinctive architectural landmarks. A $3.5 million renovation in 2002 opened up its interior into a sweeping, sunlit hall — 50 feet high, 55 feet wide, and 144 feet long — enclosed by cantilevered glass walls supported by arched steel beams. Inside, tropical trees, seasonal florals, hanging plant baskets, and a central fountain fill the space year-round, with the botanical displays shifting with each season. The Jewel Box is fully climate controlled. The venue accommodates up to 250 guests for wedding ceremonies and up to 160 for seated receptions, with tables and chairs included in all rentals.
