About The McDaniel-Tichenor House
The eclectically furnished interior includes artifacts that date from the late 18th century through the mid-20th century, among other periods. Emily Tichenor saved several original items from storage in the servants' quarters, including the Governor's carved mahogany bed, and repaired them at her home studio. The fact that the house, unlike many other house museums, was occupied by the same family until a little more than a decade ago adds to its allure. Today, the McDaniel-Tichenor House serves an essential role in Monroe and Walton County as a source of civic pride, a meeting place for its citizens, and a key educational resource, serving as a reminder of a simpler time that was once upon a time not so long ago. When planning a special event, consider holding it at the McDaniel-Thichenor House, which provides a unique and historical setting for any occasion. Apart from hosting beautiful outdoor events, we are also the ideal location for interior gatherings such as wedding showers, baby showers, retirement parties, graduation parties, and other special occasions. Your big day may be celebrated in the historic Governor's Mansion in Monroe, which is brimming with Southern charm and elegance. We provide a variety of wedding package alternatives that may be tailored to meet the specific requirements of each Bride.
