About The Moody Mansion
Moody Mansion is a 28,000-square-foot, four-story historic home in Galveston, completed in 1895 for the Moody family and restored to its turn-of-the-century splendor. Designed by British architect William H. Tyndall and decorated by New York's Pottier & Stymus, the mansion has been a Recorded Texas Historical Landmark since 1967 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1994. Beyond its daily house-museum tours, Moody Mansion hosts weddings, galas, and fundraisers within its historic rooms. Private event rentals include setup and takedown of furniture, linens, tables, and chairs, along with on-site staff to help coordinate vendors and floorplans.

- No headset is required. Guests can play the audio tour aloud on their own phone or connect their own Bluetooth headphones; shared headsets were discontinued for sanitary reasons.

- Moody Mansion has the only passenger elevator to survive the 1900 storm still in use, now 131 years old. It is not ADA compliant and only accommodates a standard wheelchair or walker, with a 1,000-lb capacity; a standard wheelchair is kept on hand for guests who can transition to it.
