The Morris House

Built in 1787, the Morris House Hotel occupies one of Philadelphia's most intact examples of Colonial residential architecture, a National Historic Landmark in the city's Historic District. The Morris family lived in the home for more than 120 years, and later restoration work in 1914 expanded the property's garden by removing an adjoining structure — the same garden that now anchors the hotel's events. The Morris House Hotel hosts weddings, rehearsal dinners, and private celebrations across several distinct spaces, from the 4,800-square-foot Courtyard Garden, with its wrought iron gates and French-countryside feel, to the Morris House Library and the Garden Building, both suited to more intimate indoor gatherings. The hotel's 17 boutique rooms and suites, including a dedicated Wedding Suite, allow guests to stay just steps from the celebration.
