The Playhouse on Rodney Square

The Playhouse on Rodney Square is a 1,230-seat Victorian theatre located in Wilmington, Delaware's historic DuPont Building, just two blocks north of The Grand Opera House on Market Street. Opened in 1913 as one of the select theaters on the Broadway touring circuit, it is recognized as the oldest continuously operating legitimate theatre in the country. The Grand Opera House assumed management of the Playhouse in January 2015. The theatre's sweeping orchestra seating and classic Victorian architecture set the stage for Broadway touring productions, music performances, private events, and charitable gatherings.
